2021 Caspi, Eilon. Understanding and Preventing Harmful Interactions Between Residents with Dementia Professional care providers can learn ways to avoid one of the most difficult and often tragic problems to occur in care settings: When residents with memory loss act in ways that harm another resident. Many of these episodes are preventable. Understanding what may provoke a person with dementia to respond in a physically or verbally harmful manner is the key to prevention and mitigation.

Eden Alternative: The Eden Alternative shows how companionship, the opportunity to give meaningful care to other living things, and the variety and spontaneity that mark an enlivened environment, can succeed where pills and therapies often fail. Places that have adopted the Eden Alternative typically are filled with plants, animals, and are regularly visited by children.  http://www.edenalt.org/eastern-canada
